i'm a gimp.
My last day of skiing was last monday. I ended my season on a bad note.
Skiing at Beaver Creek, third run of the day, tweaked my knee, no binding release.
Attempted to ski down and there was no stability under my right knee. Being with two of the people who love me the most, mom and Jon, they were insistent that I take a sled on an adventure to the clinic.
After my clinic visit, 2 orthopedic appointments, and MRI, x-rays, an allergic reaction to the medicine and a lot of hobbling around, it has been determined that I DON'T need surgery!
Turns out I actually compacted my tibia near where the bone flares towards the outside of my leg. Dr. HorribleBedsideManner informed me that this is an absolutely bizarre injury seeing as that this "almost.never.happens." unless a ligament is torn first.
Here I am now, relieved that I don't need a surgery, or crutches for that matter in my house that has a bajillion stairs. Yes, a bajillion. Thankfully they gave me a knee brace to hold everything in tact in the meantime that will end up costing me as much as a surgery in the end.

Day #30 - Winter Park
jon, isaac and mike...sessioned the park...token dragalong girlfriend.
they'd claimed 2 inches but the bowl was EPIC! hiked it 2.444354 times

sick powder lines and a minor head injury...rip old helmet

cornice dropping, fresh lines and no crowds

gave jon a good showing of what snowmass is and got some great runs in. ran into chris davenport back in HV glades...now have to go back to boulder.

skiing with Ari and Jon...hiked the bowl...waist deep pow. EPIC

EPIC. tomorrow should be even more EPIC.

got a harsh reality check on how out of shape i am...heavy snow and hiking to the wall
